Who cares about power when Indian's ride is rough, its shifting isn't smooth (finding neutral is a pain), seat position on all models is out of whack, not normal or comfortable per the rider triangle (not what I have found when test riding Harley, Honda or BMW. I own a H-D Road Glide Special, but after a 10 mins test ride on the Scout, Chieftain and FTR I had to get off asap. Not the same I felt on the LiveWire, Iron 883, Lowrider or Road/Street Glide. Indian/Polaris can stay far away from me.

I am 72- years old. Ridden many bikes in my 50-years of riding. Ridden BMW's predominantly lately. Some Ducati's and Yamaha's. For my 70th birthday I rented a Harley Davidson Milwaukee 8 Road King. And rode from Seattle to Chicago and back. The bike was fantastic - easily as good or better than the bikes I was used to. Plenty powerful. I went out and bought one. Traded in my BMWR1200RT. I'm betting that most Haley detractors have never ridden a Harley, let alone owned one. And do not realize that Harley Davidsons hold their resale value better than any other motorcycle brand.

All Indian engines are like the engines used in Polaris, designed in europe. There is the difference, modern design vs. outdated US crap tech. Why do you think US cars have like 0,1% market share in EU? Because it is overpriced crap.
DennyHulme Prieš 7 dienų
Why do you think that European designed FIAT's are a sick joke in America? Just because its modern and designed in Europe is meaningless. There are many European cars and motorcycles that are overpriced crap. Ask a BMW owner how much he was ripped off in his last experience having his car/motorcycle serviced! LOL
valyservice Prieš 8 dienų
Well, my friend, it looks like you don't really understand Harley Davidson. Which is not a bad thing; there are plenty of bikes out there for everyone. What Harley customers need is not a modern, powerful, shocking motorcycle. It's quite the opposite. They prefer a simple "mechanical" bike that they can pass to the next generation. They want these low revving, air-cooled, under-stressed (that's why they need to be so big) engines than can still move, but can last a lifetime and can be serviced quite easily. It's the same story as with mechanical watches. They are clearly more expensive, less practical, less performant and less modern than their electronic counterparts. And of course, just like with mechanical watches, there are a lot of folks who buys them just to show off that price tag and exclusivity and make a statement. Actually this is the reason so much people hate Harley and Rolex, and the dealers just make this worse. But I believe the real Harley guy, just like the real mechanical watch guy, don't buy it to show off, race, impress and get served for a few years and then move to the new one. They buy it to love it, take care of it, and even pass it to their children or grandchildren at some point. You're welcome.

I love my Scout Bobber so much. Though I do agree it's lean angle is pretty pathetic. I started on a 2020 Honda Rebel 500. But shortly after discovering that it did not have the power I wanted for mountain rides here in Colorado I got the Scout Bobber. The scout just g o e s. But I was quickly disappointed by how much I had to slow down for the corners with the Scout vs the Rebel. It is such a beautiful bike though. I get compliments on it every single time I ride it. I love it to death. I would probably have the FTR if I was tall enough to comfortably ride one... but I am not so I'll keep my Scout!

The lack of promotion and eventual discontinuation of the V-Rod platform will be remembered as one of H-D's most craven capitulations to the nostalgia market, and one of the biggest long-term mistakes in the motor company's history. Your old customer base is dying off, H-D. Who's going to replace them?

Just like they stopped the Victory line, if singer sowing machines bought the brand Victory could the claim the heritage of the Victory brand like Polaris is doing with the Indian brand?

Reminds me of how Land Rover has ignored their base over the defender, literally for decades, and so another company (Ineos) has simply made it for them, and they're going to make a killing. Unlike Harley, Land Rover has moved it's sales base to rich people, so won't feel it like Harley will.

If you want a real bike buy from Japan all this trying to make more power is stupid and pointless inline 4 is way better faster and the displacement is smaller with more horsepower.
DaemonWulf7 Prieš 17 dienų
the Scout Bobber's a beautiful bike, and a really powerful one. feels awesome. but at the end of the day, it's the eye candy hooligan bike that gets you in the dealership. i loved my time on it, and it was my first brand new bike... it made me love the brand. that said, the seat was only good for just under an hour, the $500 Corbin only got me just over an hour, and it is not a two-up bike, which is kinda obvious when you look at it (but i was hopin). but if i hadn't found that, i might not have found my 2017 Chief Vintage, which is about the best bike i've ever ridden. if you're goin for entry level Indian, try the standard Scout and see if they can fit the headlight cowl... much better seat. Indian is the bike America should be making.. vintage bikes AND innovative ones.
