Is the Yamaha Ténéré 700 Really So Special?

Too portly, too big, too gimmicky, too…well, everything. Adventure bikes have gotten out of hand. Yamaha wants to change that by offering something just right - nothing more, nothing less.

Great to have some solid reviews from a rider the same height and weight. What would you say between buying a bew T7 or a used super-Ten for mixed use fire trail riding?

I doubt Ryan's serious about switching to the T700; I'm interested if he actually jumps over.... For millennials in a more normal financial boat, well...I'm sticking to the old KLRs and TW200s. I'd prefer to stick with the 2k bikes with that long pedigree and that stout character.
Noah Cohen
Noah Cohen Prieš 7 dienų
Speaking of stout, why do I want front-wheel pressure on my adventure bike for technical riding? I need to pop up the front wheel to get over obstacles. I'm not making sharp turns at speed, my shocks wouldn't allow it anyway. And if they did, I'd be too freaked out by the bounce to notice a slight difference in handling. Maybe the T700 is just made for a better rider than me, but I know my limits. I won't be throwing ten grand at it. Maybe I'll grab a used one in ten years, if it holds up. Knowing Yamaha, it probably will.

I had always liked your technical unbiassed reviews. Thank you for making it be absolutely worth it to stop dreaming about the GS. T7 is now at the top of my list. Yeah, i deviate from my long standing about Shaft vs everything else, but at this price and this technical forward thinking? Worth taking a chill pill and swap onto it

Idk why it took me so long to realize this, but the filmography of this channel is second to few on all of LTpost. Like every time I watch a video from Fortnine, I'm almost distracted by how creative and cinematic these motorcycle reviews are. I want to know how much time is put into every video, because I'm sure it's immense

I have always ridden Yamaha for off road, Engines are always top quality, suspension as well. I may look into this for my next Bike. Your video is extremely well made. Have read that a lot of people have had the Fluid changed in the front forks and it improved ride quality. other than that this Bike is perfect. Plus this Bike looks the best out of all the ADV Bikes.

Because Yamaha wants to pay off their research and development for this bike in the West we may never see the tracer 700. Tenere is a good bike but too expensive and most people stay on road so hard to justify.

But the thing here is that no other big motorcycle comparison review channel points out what fortnine did. They just say that all the bikes they compared are good(If they have anything slightly negative it's all for the bikes that cheaped out on a few components). It's literally bullshit. After I started watching fortnine I stopped believing in other channels.

Hey Ryan, Yamaha media relations Canada here, you still haven't paid us back for all the damage you caused on our demo bike. Per our contract, you were allowed "light off road excursion", ripping ass off step hill banks and doing half meter jumps was not part of the arrangement. Our reclaimations team informs me everytime they call all they hear is "a long pause with no response besides heavy breathing, followed by a series of farts and then a click to dial tone." I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding, also would you please let us know when you will be returning our T9, it's been several months and Revzilla is awaiting that demo unit for testing.

The T7 is beautiful and a Jack Of All Trades as well as being reliable as an Anvil like all Yamahas. I LOVE the fact that its clutch throttle are cable activated and that it lacks all those rider aids" that most bike have these days. Yamaha took the KISS Principle with the T7 and that is a big selling point for me. If you require all these rider aids" perhaps you should move to a smaller bike and work on your skillset. The T7 is smooth on the road, capable in the dirt, gets good fuel economy and can be worked on if needed (not likely) by a rider with basic tools and skills, what more do you need? Powerful enough to be bigtime fun even for a guy like me whos been riding since I was 4 years old and ridden everything from minibikes to Pro Stockers. I Love It. Ride On.
