The new generation of motorcyclists and snowmobilers are absolute pussies, when I started sledding 50% needed to figure out how to fix the sled to get home and bikes were 25%, now it's just call caa and get it towed to the dealer, just like their beemer

Electrical Resistance = (resistivity * length)/cross sectional area. Reduced cross-section increases resistance and lowers the amount of current flowing through an electrical connection. If you want to short a terminal and dump current, shorter and fatter connections are better.

You can get an accurate South/North with a watch and the sun. The rules change in whether you're in the North or South hemisphere. If you don't know which hemisphere you're in, you will need to drill a drain hole in the seat of the bike you're using as a bowl, to establish which way the water flows as it drains...clockwise is northern hemisphere and anti-clockwise is southern. Best also get acquainted with Polaris if you're in the northern hemisphere or the Southern Cross if you're in the South. You may want to walk at night. I used to do a lot of night hiking in the African bush as it was cooler but you've got to get your bearings spot on.
Eugene Prieš 2 mėnesius
really, you even CONSIDER getting someone else to get you out of YOUR own F-UP? How about YOU get YOUR own little lower back thingy out of YOUR OWN trouble? Consider nobody ever gonna come for you for next 150 years or so... how about that?

Ryan, you are absolutely doing good in this world. Between the riding skills / safety gear vids and now this, you are undoubtedly going to save lives. Even if it is only the Intelligent / Educated-Informed / and Skilled that do. Perhaps that is the way it was meant to be all along. Thanks for overcoming your Nerd Abuse baggage and helping to Educate, Inform and provide the skills to those of us who fall outside that [overly intelligent] spectrum. And a sincere Thank You from all of those who you will never hear from that will knowingly or otherwise put some of the information you have provided to good use and saved them much grief, serious injury or seriously, life itself. Keep up the good work! Now if I can only remember half this stuff...

It always makes me smile when I hear Canadians, so different to Americans but so similar to Brits. I'll visit BC one of these days hopefully in the coming 5yrs. I know I will as the wife wants to visit there, so there's no arguments what the boss wants the boss gets. It's the recipe for a successful relationship.

At first I was really repulsed by the idea of the tire Camelbak. But then I thought, what touches it? Nothing, except air and maybe some lube while seating the tire. It's probably the cleanest thing on the whole bike.

As to starting a fire, its way easier to tire a little bit of rag to a stick and then dip it in the petrol tank, pull the spark plug lead off the spark plug. Use your spare spark plug, bit of wire or bare the insulation to create a spark by earthing the spark plug lead to the motor with the petrol dipped rag close to the spark. Crank the engine and hey presto, you have flame. This is way less intrusive for your motorbike.
