Two-up riding can be an extremely enjoyable experience or a terrible one. Here's how you can ensure the first option.

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3… 1) Remove passenger pegs 2) Remove grab bars 3) Tell them to get their own

Such hilarious animations here! I even have a close friend named Nicole and have little doubt she'd be the "noodle" described here. Is there more info on what's involved in carrying a passenger? At this point I'm just trying to convince my mom that, a week after taking the motorcycle safety course and getting a starter 250 to share, I don't think we'll be riding it together to the Bistro.

Belt loops or have them hold on to your loosened belt if you wear pants while riding. Shaq won't fit on back.

I can't say I've had most of these. I just learnt to demand they not move and thats it. Of course some people still try to move, usually non-bikers. Makes filtering difficult, especially if they're moving away from car into another. The rest really are but a mild annoyance, like helmet taps. Passengers leaning out of turns or doing other silliness is common but its not going to cause a problem. Anyone taking their first passenger, just start with an abundance of caution and it becomes obvious what you can and can't do. After all, its still riding a bike. Just an overweight, annoying bike with a loose backpack usually.

My #1 tip for carrying a passenger is to never, ever carry a passenger unless it’s for a very short distance off the trail when a trail-riding buddy’s bike breaks. I LOATHE carrying a passenger and refuse to do it unless there’s no alternative.

:45 Meanwhile Flamboyant Fred riding pillion decides to seize the moment and make the best of it and get snuggly. It it a "phobia" for a straight guy to be uncomfortable with a guy's package to be pressed up against his backside? If you enjoyed it then maybe it's time to exit the closet. I'm riding the bike and he's tryin to ride me. WTF? Sure, buddy I'll give you a ride since your bike broke down...but no monkey business!

I always tell my passengers to just hold onto me and that I'm not going to do anything to surprise them, and that they should pretty much sit there like a sack of potatoes. The bike will lean on corners, and they should just let it happen, don't try and stay upright, and don't make a conscious effort to lean either. Just sit there, and everything will be fine. For most people this does the trick. If you have someone who still tries to stay upright, sometimes it helps to explain that when they do that, it means you have to lean even further to get around the corner, but sometimes they're just too freaked out, and maybe you just need to slow down and lean less until they get a bit of a feel for it.

Best pillion my old friends sister, 6 feet 4 inches to my 5 feet 6 inches, she hugged me so tight it was like wearing a back pack with boobs. She always wanted to go faster and faster!!! No we never got together as I was married at the time😉 Worst was in old mate who thought touching me closely meant we were a couple, he used to sit so far back the front would come up every time I pulled away. And my ex step daughter who used to move around so much I was constantly fighting the bike to just go straight.

Many years ago, giving a very attractive woman a ride home from the beach on my old Ducati 900SS, and I've rarely had a pillion before. Bit of an uphill off a red light, and an accidental 45 degree wheelie (my first on that bike - long wheelbase). She squealed in glee, held on tight, and we were together for 12 damn fine years.

I usually tell my inexperienced passengers to just sit like they are a bag of potatoes. That way I am not telling them to sit still but just to sit like they were strapped to the bike like luggage. That usually makes them follow around corners easily and trust my driving... Can only recommend it.

Just be sure to tell your Pillion the basics, don't assume they know. My first time on a bike I was a Pillion of the "Statue Stefanie" variety. Not because I was scared but simply because I didn't know what to do so I figured no movements and then let the rider do all the work would be best. After a few turns the rider pulled over and explained to me it was best for me to copy his movements and lean into the turns as he did. So I did and after that simple 10 second explanation the ride was smoother and more enjoyable for the both of us.

I've taken 5 or 6 different people on rides now and I'm so grateful none of them have been like these examples. I've told them beforehand to essentially: I don't bite, hold onto me tight, and lean with me. Only crappy thing is (and it's on me 100%) when I shift with a passenger, I have to pay WAY more attention to my revs and clutch work so their head doesn't hit mine 😂

The best pillion I’ve ever had never ridden a bike in his life. My advice the first time he got on the back of my bike was relax, hold on with your knees and lean when I do. I taught the worst pillion I’ve ever had to ride 😂🤣😂 talk about high strung. Mind you riding along on an expressway she got so uptight instead of telling me to stop she was trying to light a cigarette at 120kmph saying that she’s also a prime example of why if it’s dark you never use a cigarette lighter to check how much petrol is in your bike. 🔥💥💥💥😂🤣😂

After my wife got comfortable riding 2 up in a parking lot and round the block, I took her out for dinner. There's a nice, long, easy curve where I get to lean in a bit at pretty good speed (less than 50mph, but higher than 35). When we got to dinner I asked her if she remembered that turn. She said she did. I said "Great! Whatever you did on that curve, do THAT every time." She said "I didn't do anything" 🤣
